African Screens Magazine is an original reference to the African film industry; it is a pan-African magazine aimed at creating a forum for debating the successes, challenges and aspirations of African filmmakers.

This bi-weekly online publication is aimed at everyone with a keen interest in African films and the wider industry.

Through in-depth discussions with influential players in the African movie world, as well as film fans, we fill a gap in the market for a rich discourse that brings together a plurality of views, contextualizing African films.

Africa is a continent with diverse people and cultures, and with this comes many stories yet to be told; African Screens celebrates the works of filmmakers by honouring their effort in promoting a better understanding of everyday life and culture across Africa.

With the use of articles, video interviews, photography as well as great design, African Screens brings a different approach to experiencing the African film industry online.

Every month we shall take you on a tour of a plethora of film experiences from the big budget South African films, the vibrant and unique Nollywood films in Nigeria, to the Art house films popular in French speaking Africa; as well as films made in lesser known industries and Africans in Diaspora. We shall also bring you commentaries, tutorials, photo exhibitions and a selection of films recommended by our editors.

AfricanScreens is a celebration of the African sense of self through Cinema.

Welcome.
